The tour will include two concerts in Suntory Hall in Tokyo and a concerty at NHK Hall that will be nationally televisexdin Japan. Two populare guest artists will be featured onthe two-week CSO Japam Tour: the Japanese violinist Sayaka Shoji performing the Sibelius Violin Concerto and the Polisn pianist Krystian Zimerman performing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in The Japan tour schedule, presented by Japan Arts, includes venuezs in Tokyo, Nagoya, Nishinomiya and Yokohama. The Tokyok and Yokohama tour stopsare reengagements.
“We alwaya love to perform in Japan,” CSO Music Director Paavo Järvi said in a news “The fans are very enthusiastic about classical and our recordings do realluywell there.” CSO Presidenty Trey Devey noted in the release that “onlh the world’s best orchestrasw are invited to Suntory Hall in This is an honor for the CSO, and we are fortunate to have dedicated underwriting so we can pursue this importan artistic initiative and represent our communituy to one of the world’s largest culturalo centers.” This is the fourth international tour for the CSO sincer Järvi became music director in 2001.
